Wildlife World – The Story So Far…
Based in Chavenage on the outskirts of Tetbury in Gloucestershire, Wildlife World is the UK’s leading designer and manufacturer of wildlife friendly products for the garden. Our efforts to produce innovative and valuable nesting habitats and feeders for birds, mammals, amphibians and insects are benefiting wildlife all over Europe. And our commitment to original product features has gained us an enviable reputation as leaders in both design and manufacture.
Our U.K Workshop
We work with an extensive network of wildlife experts, including TV’s Simon King, to develop unique products with innovative features. We are one of the few suppliers with our own UK workshop. Our uniquely designed products are first manufactured and tested in the UK. The design is then registered with Copywatch. The products may then be produced by subcontractors in the UK or other countries who all meet our environmental standards. We use FSC® (License No. 167799 – look for the FSC®-certified products that are clearly marked on this website) certified timber sourced from well-managed forests and controlled sources, recycled timber and, where possible, other recycled materials in place of plastic and metals and are Sedex registered. A lot of the timber we use for special production comes from a local sawmill in the Forest of Dean. Our workshops use all renewable electricity. The workshops have featured on CBeebies and ITV News at 10.
Conservation
Conservation has been at the heart of the ethics for 20 years. We were one of the first businesses in this field We use FSC® (License No. 167799) certified timber sourced from well-managed forests and controlled sources, recycled timber and, where possible, other recycled materials in place of plastic and metals. Down in Devon, we converted intensive grassland into Organic wildflower meadows and planted organic cider apple orchards and 4000 native trees with the charity Moor Trees.
Subsequently we have planted native hedgerows and in 2020, just completed another 200 metres creating new wildlife corridors. Our organic hay goes through a special chopping machine, for use in relevant habitats
Pollution Watch UK
We know that UK waterways can be a lifeline for many wildlife species in the UK and we therefore support any effort to ensure that those waterways run clear and clean. We encourage our supporters to download the Pollution Watch UK app and report any water pollution they see, on the spot. These reports are giving water companies and regulatory bodies the opportunity to quickly clean up and improve our waterways. At Wildlife World, conservation is at the heart of our ethics and as a result we are delighted to support the goals of Pollution Watch UK.
Recycle
We use recycled cardboard for most of our packing. Originally we had a big round machine, the ULEY TIGER, that turned used boxes into packing material, now we recycle old cardboard and have replaced plastic packing with paper.
We specify recycled (reused) plastic where it has to be used, we use new compostable materials and jute for our own food packs.
Wildlife Charities
By buying Wildlife World products you are helping us to support a huge range of environmental and wildlife projects. These include the Bumble Bee Conservation Trust, British Hedgehog Preservation Society, Hedgehog Rescue Centres, Wotton Animal Rescue, Oak & Furrows, Epping Forest Hedgehog Rescue, International Bee Research Association, RNLI Royal National Institute for Lifeboats, The Centre for Alternative Technology, and other Wildlife Rescue Centres. As well as supporting and off setting with Climate Care.

Sustainability
Our wooden products are exclusively manufactured We use FSC® (License No. 167799) certified timber sourced from well-managed forests and controlled sources, recycled timber and, where possible, other recycled materials in place of plastic and metals. We use many naturally durable timbers which require more complex drying time but eliminates the need for chemical preservatives.
Our products are only treated with water-based stains and paints, we use recycled materials in place of plastic and metals where we can and a high percentage of our packaging is made from recycled cardboard
Award Winning
Since 2004 Wildlife World has continued to win awards year on year. We now total eighteen new product development, environmental and design awards.
